About Faversham
Faversham is a beautiful town with some wonderful architecture. In fact, some of described Abbey Street as one of the finest medieval streets in the country. Many of the beautiful Thames sailing barges that plied their trade on the river were built here at Faversham and that history is alluded to at Standard Quay where the original warehouses still stand and there’s a visitor centre for the sailing barge Cambria. There’s also a charming array of businesses selling art, antiques, curious and more.
The red sails of the locally made sailing barges are which give the hotel’s restaurant its name.
Whether you want to go exploring the local landscape on foot or bike, relax at one of the cosy local pubs or go and learn about local wine at a Kent vineyard, there’s enough here in Faversham to make the stay an enjoyable one. Do check out local independent fine food outlet, Macnades for a tasty treat to take home with you, too.
