Bruntwood Hall to be converted in to a boutique hotel
AN IMPOSING period property in Stockport looks set to be turned in to a new boutique hotel.
Bruntwood Hall in the village of Cheadle has been snapped up by Oddfellows after being put on sale with an asking price of almost £1.3million.
The hall, which was originally built as a family home over 150 years ago, sits within 100 acres of public parkland in south Manchester. In recent decades it has been used as office space before being put up for sale.
New buyers Oddfellows already run Oddfellows Chester hotel and now plan a 23-bedroom hotel at what will be called Oddfellows on the Park.
Jonathan Slater, of Oddfellows, commented:
“We didn’t want to just imitate the success we have had with Oddfellows, Chester. It is important to us that Oddfellows grows and develops as a brand, not as a cookie cutter business model, but with both sites retaining their own personalities and characters – with relevance to their location and history.”
