Jacobean country house in Wakefield could become boutique hotel
A GRADE II listed country house in Wakefield could be turned in to a new boutique hotel, if a planning application is successful.
Permission is being sought by developer Marshall CDP to convert 17th century Woolley Hall and its stable blocks into an 88 bedroom hotel with a gastro restaurant and two function rooms.
Boutique hotel operator Bespoke Hotels would run the new hotel with a brief to “create a hotel which is designed to the highest specification and quality to reflect the luxury status aimed at adult groups, families, couples, weddings and other function parties.”
The Jacobean property, which is surrounded by seven acres of parkland, was owned by Wakefield Council from the 1940s until 2015 and was used as a college and then more recently as a conference and wedding venue.
