Wheelgate House **** in Bampton
At the edge of the Cotswolds in the pretty village of Bampton is the delightful four star bed and breakfast Wheelgate House. The historic property has long been at the centre of village life: it’s was previously the local post office and is situated in the Market Square opposite the local war memorial. The five rooms are all named after birds (Blackbird, Nightingale, Skylark, Robin & Wren). Each room is different from the others but all are individually styled with care and attention. Some of the rooms have exposed beams and all have views of the market square or the courtyard garden. The Skylark room has a gorgeous freestanding Victorian-style bath.
